England’s fireworks with the bat in the one-day series with Pakistan meant that Ladbrokes refunded £150,000 in losing match bets.
From the start of the one-day series, Ladbrokes offered refunds on all losing match bets should any England player register a century.
Captain Alastair Cook was first the scourge of Ladbrokes with knocks of 137 and 102 in the opening two England victories, meaning that Ladbrokes refunded all bets on Pakistan.
Although Cook was at it again in the third one-day showdown with a contribution of 80, he was eclipsed by fellow opener Kevin Pietersen’s 111, which arrived off just 98 balls.
And it was Pietersen who was in the act again as his 130 in the final encounter ensured England’s whitewash 4-0 success and a degree of retribution for their 3-0 defeat in the Test series last month.
With similar refund offers constantly ongoing on other events including the Premier League, Champions League and Six Nations, it certainly pays to bet with Ladbrokes.
Meanwhile, all losing match bets will be refunded again if an England batsman scores a century in the first T20 with Pakistan.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Cook and Pietersen’s centuries have left us with a major headache and we anticipate we’ll need some more paracetamol.”
