Our traders have slashed the odds on Phillip Schofield appearing on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing for the second time this week.

The ITV presenter was a 7/2 shot on Monday and is now just 2/1 to appear on the next series of the hit BBC show, after getting former dancer AJ Pritchard’s seal of approval.

The 58-year-old is among a list of stars rumoured to be competing for the Glitterball trophy in a series which is odds-on to welcome the first ever same-sex couple to the dancefloor. Could Schofe be the first celebrity to be partnered with a male dancer?

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Schofield’s looking increasingly likely to take part in Strictly’s first ever same-sex couple and as speculation mounts, the odds continue to fall.”
