Joe Wicks 25/1 for BBC Sports Personality of the Year

Fitness coach Joe Wicks is the fifth-most likely name to win this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year, according to our latest odds.

The nation’s PE teacher has seen his SPOTY odds tumble over the past few days and he’s now just a 25/1 shot for the annual BBC gong.

That means he’s more likely than Andy Murray (33/1), Ben Stokes (50/1) and Harry Kane (50/1) in the betting, while Tyson Fury remains odds-on favourite at 4/6.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Joe Wicks is keeping the nation fit during lockdown and he could be rewarded with this year’s SPOTY if the latest odds are anything to go by.”

Richard Marsh

Richard loves his sport, especially if it involves the sound of tyres screaming around a race track. He's not fussy though and his '90s Premier League nostalgia and knowledge of team nicknames is tough to match.
