Is Idris Elba finally set to land James Bond role?

We’ve slashed the odds on Idris Elba playing the next James Bond after receiving a flurry of bets on the Luther star over the past week.
Our traders have acted accordingly and slashed odds on Elba replacing Daniel Craig as 007 from 10/1 to 6/1.
His performances as Russell ‘Stringer’ Bell in The Wire saw him gain notoriety before taking on the starring role as John Luther in the BBC hit-show in 2010.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It looks like the name’s going to be Elba; Idris Elba, with punters seemingly convinced he’ll get the nod to replace Daniel Craig as Bond.”
After winning hearts and minds on the small screen and turning his hand to music, production and DJing, could Elba be about to become part of one of the most recognisable franchises in the world?
