Victoria Azarenka’s retirement yesterday has left Caroline Wozniacki in a dominant position in the top half of the Porsche Grand Prix.
Wozniacki is the 7/4 favourite to win in Stuttgart and faces Andrea Petkovic in today’s quarter-final and the Porsche Grand Prix odds expect Wozniacki to go through at 4/11 to beat Petkovic.
Petkovic beat Wozniacki in their only previous meeting last month but that was on the hard courts of Miami and Petkovic’s form on the clay courts isn’t the greatest.
The German is a tempting price at 2/1 to beat Wozniacki considering that Miami victory, but punters should instead take the 11/4 that Wozniacki wins 2-1.
Vera Zvonareva vs Sam Stosur
Zvonareva’s quarter-final with Stosur is the first match on court in Stuttgart at 1.00pm and what a tie the German fans are in for.
Stosur enters the match as the 5/4 underdog but the Australian offers all the value in the betting having won all of the five previous encounters between the two, including the last match on clay last year.
Zvonareva has only beaten Stosur once and it’s hard to find any value in backing the world number three, especially after dropping a set in her opening match with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
Stosur dropped a set against Daniela Hantuchova in her second round match but only once has she dropped a set against Zvonareva and we’re tipping the Australian to win 2-0 at 11/4.
Sabina Lisicki vs Julia Goerges
The tightest game in today’s Porsche Grand Prix open is the tie between qualifier Lisicki and world number 32 Goerges.
Lisicki has already upset Dominika Cibulkova and Na Li this week and her prowess on clay means the qualifier is the 8/11 favourite to win.
The two have met once, way back in 2007, and Lisicki won that tie 2-0 on clay and we’re tipping the qualifier to win 2-0 at 2/1.
A £10 stake on Stosur beating Zvonareva 2-0 would return £37.50. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of a free tennis bet worth up to £30.
