Scott McDonald - Motherwell

Motherwell moved clear of the danger zone and in turn pushed Ross County further towards the trap door after thumping the visitors 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

County have now gone nine Ladbrokes Premiership games without a win following their latest defeat with Scott McDonald’s header on eight minutes handing Well the early advantage in this encounter.

County defender Kenny van der Weg then deflected Louis Moult’s strike into his own net to compound a miserable first-half for the visitors.

Richard Tait’s hammer strike added to County’s woes while Lionel Ainsworth added the icing on the cake on 62 minutes, following some fancy footwork.

Alex Schalk’s arrowed shot provided some consolation for Jim McIntrye’s side but they slip to second-bottom with Motherwell up to ninth in the table.
