ICYMI: Watch Ross County beat Hibernian to lift the League Cup

Alex Schalk was the hero at Hampden Park yesterday with his late strike securing Ross County their first piece of major silverware after a hard-fought victory over Hibernian.

The Ladbrokes Championship side took their Premiership opponents all the way but ultimately Schalk’s effort proved decisive.

County took the lead midway through the first-half when Michael Gardyne capitalised on a defensive mix-up but the Staggies were pegged back by Liam Fontaine just before the break.

Schalk had the last word, however, to consign Alan Stubbs’ Hibees to a dramatic defeat.
