Hearts 4/6 to snap up Newcastle’s U-20 World Cup winning stopper

It’s no surprise to see clubs on both sides of the border fighting for goalkeeper Freddie Woodman’s services this summer.

But it seems the Englishman will be choosing life in the Ladbrokes Premiership over a homeland club – with Heart of Midlothian favourites to snap him up.

The Newcastle United stopper spent the second half of last season on loan at Kilmarnock, conceding just 15 goals in 14 top-flight games, in a stint which included clean sheets against the likes of Rangers and Hearts.

However, he’s likely to start the coming campaign on the side of the Tynecastle club – with 4/6 on offer for the stopper to join Hearts this summer, either permanently or on a loan deal.

The Jam Tarts are followed in the betting by EFL League One side Bury, who are 3/1 to beat the Gorgie club to his signature.

Meanwhile, Kilmarnock are 6/1 to bring the 20-year-old back to Rugby Park before the window closes.

With the youngster having proved hugely popular with fans in Ayrshire last season, that could prove a popular bet with those of a Killie persuasion.

The market is closed out by Northampton Town at 8/1, with the Cobblers reportedly very keen on the player, but unlikely to beat Woodman’s fellow suitors to his signature.
