How Twitter reacted to an absorbing Rangers v Celtic clash
Published:Celtic gave their fans an early New Year’s gift to savour when coming from behind to beat Rangers 2-1 at Ibrox this afternoon.
Kenny Miller had handed the hosts an early lead in the pair’s feisty Ladbrokes Premiership encounter but goals from Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair ensured it was the visitors who were left celebrating at the final whistle.
It certainly wasn’t a game for the faint-hearted with the tackles flying in and Joe Garner stretchered off for Mark Warburton’s side.
As you can imagine, Social Media had plenty to say before, during and after the keenly-fought contest.
Here’s some of the best reaction on a day when the Bhoys went 19 points clear at the top of table.
Many were left marvelling at what proved to be an enthralling and open encounter…
Good #OldFirm game overall⚽️ teams equal at half-time but Celtic way stronger in 2nd half & deserved win (though Miller will rue bad miss )

While understandably disappointed, the Rangers fans remained philosophical in defeat.
Now is not time to attack the players or manager.
Was a better performance than last #OldFirm game, let’s see where we are @ end of season.

However, former Gers defender Craig Moore couldn’t help but get animated.
Cmon Rangers. We haven’t started this half. Need to smarten up quickly #OldFirm #Rangers

Shaky at the start, but rest of the game were dominant, deserved the win, thanks to a Dembele screamer and a Sinclair tap in ? #OldFirm

And of course there’s been some customary banter, mainly involving the gap at the top of the Ladbrokes Premiership.
Reports coming in that it is pretty cold in Govan just now . . . minus 19 in fact #OldFirm
