Mark Williams looks good value at 6/5 in the snooker betting to compete a Crucible hat-trick over John Higgins and move into the final of the World Championships.

Match Odds

Williams is looking forward to his first semi-final in Sheffield since 2003 and he will have good memories of this occasion as he went on to win the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Welshman holds a 100 per cent winning record over Higgins in the Snooker World Championships, emerging victorious on both of their previous meetings.

Ironically, these victories were also both secured in semi finals, with Williams winning 17-10 in 1999 and then following up a year later with a 17-15 success.

If Williams needed a bigger incentive, he will want revenge for his 10-9 defeat to Higgins in the final of the UK Championship in December, when Williams had previously led 6-2 and 9-7.

After knocking out Ronnie O’Sullivan in the quarter finals, Higgins is 4/6 to beat Williams and the 7/4 favourite to win the Snooker World Championships.

However, Higgins may need to improve on the form that he has produced at the Crucible so far to beat Williams.

Higgins was terrible in the morning session of his second-round win over Rory McLeod and was also not required to be at his best to beat O’Sullivan.

Match Centuries

Break-building when in among the balls are great strengths of both players and this shows in the fact that they have already registered 11 centuries between them in the tournament.

With the match liable to make it to at least 30 frames, there is every reason to suggest that 100-plus breaks will be fairly common.

Therefore, 12/1 seems a particularly large price that there will seven centuries in the semi-final, which roughly equates to one in every four-frame mini session.

A £30 stake on eight centuries in the semi final between Williams and Higgins would return £600. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
