It’s only been a fortnight since the Aviva Premiership 2014/15 campaign kicked off and already there’s been a few maulings, not to mention the odd shock loss.
A number of bruising encounters await in Gameweek Three, so we’ve cobbled together an acca priced at just over 8/1 to aid your viewing pleasure.
Bath to beat Leicester @ 4/6
The greatest rivalry in the history of English Rugby resumes at the Rec this weekend, with both sides going into this clash having won their first two fixtures.
Bath have triumphed in the last three renewals against the Tigers at home and looked marginally more impressive in matches with Sale and London Welsh than Leicester, who soundly beat Newcastle at home but only edged past Exeter by four points last time out on the road.
Saracens -9 to beat London Irish @ 10/11
After thumping Harlequins 39-0 at the Twickenham Stoop, Sarries now travel to a London Irish side that lost 20-15 to Conor O’Shea’s men at home in their first fixture of this campaign.
That’s quite a line of form, and although Mark McCall’s charges have only cleared this handicap against the Exiles once away from home in the last seven attempts, that result came 12 months ago by 22 points.
Harlequins to beat Wasps @ 1/2
Last weekend, Quins coach O’Shea was right to lambast his players, who went over to the crowd to apologise after their shocking performance against Sarries.
The former Ireland full-back will get a reaction when his side take on the High Wycombe outfit, who have only won once on the road in the Premiership – against Worcester – since last November.
Northampton -10 to beat Newcastle @ 10/11
The current champions are also tipped to roar back after being narrowly beaten by Wasps last time out.
George North and co were on a nine-game unbeaten streak in all competitions prior to going down 20-16 at Adams Park and thrashed Gloucester 53-6 in the first outing of their title defence, so one of the worst teams in the division should not cause Northampton serious problems.
