UEFA 7/4 to sack rather than back referee Busacca

Massimo Busacca is 7/4 not to referee another game is this season’s Champions League after controversially sending off Robin Van Persie at the Nou Camp.

The under-fire ref is 50/1 to never take charge of another Champions League game as Arsenal fans continue to rage at his decision.

Busacca, who refereed the Champions League final between Manchester United and Barcelona two seasons ago, is no stranger to controversy and was banned for three matches in 2009 by the Swiss FA after swearing at a set of fans in a domestic match.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Just like Arsenal, Busacca’s Champions League campaign could well be over. The fury towards him might make UEFA think twice about using him again.”

The Swiss ref is 5/1 to take charge of the May final at Wembley.

Ladbrokes odds:
7/4 Massimo Busacca not to referee in the Champions League again this season
50/1 Massimo Busacca not to referee in the Champions League again
5/1 Massimo Busacca to take charge of the Champions League final
