Henry backers clean up in Arsenal’s victory over Leeds

THIERRY HENRY’S goal has cost the betting industry up to a million pounds, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies report record numbers of in-play bets struck (up to ten a second) as Henry came on to the pitch with his match-winner triggering payouts of up to a million pounds across the industry.

Those who backed Henry to score first on their mobile also benefited from double odds of 8/1.

Arsenal are also subsequently trimmed to 7/1 for the FA Cup as a result of their progression to the next round.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Henry used to clobber us week in week out in his heydey. Tonight proved no different as his goal hit us for six both pre-match and in-play.”
