Paddy Doherty is the subject of a heavyweight reality TV gamble according to Ladbrokes.
The former bare-knuckle fighter is now the joint 5/1 third favourite and has the same odds of winning the show as previous market leader Amy Childs. Doherty’s odds of winning have been slashed from 14/1 over the weekend.
Jedward are now the 6/4 favourites to win the show leaving the bookies quaking following their opening-weekend pledge to refund all losing stakes on other contestants should Jedward win.
The odds also suggest a clear split in the popularity of the housemates as the front five in the betting all have odds of less than 8/1 leaving the last five (Bobby, Tara, Sally, Darren & Pamela) all rank outsiders ranging from 25/1 to 50/1.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Doherty has exploded onto the scene this weekend and he’s the man the punters want to be with. His odds have fallen quicker than his last opponent in the ring.”
