UKIP leader Paul Nuttall is proving a popular bet to take Stoke Central from Labour, according to the latest odds.
With the news looking increasingly likely that Nuttall will run, the bookies have been forced to cut the odds of a UKIP victory to 2/1 from 9/4.
That move has left Labour drifting out to 4/5 having opened up at 1/2.
Hunt’s departure is the latest blow for Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, with the party also under pressure to hold their seat up in Copeland.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The early money in Stoke was all on Lib Dem, but with Nuttall seemingly about to declare his run, political punters are confident he will go on better than the man he replaced.”
