Stephen Kinnock: We need to fight for British interests within the EU

Labour MP Stephen Kinnock has claimed the UK should vote for Remain in the EU in next month’s Referendum, but that Britain must change its relationship with the continent.

Speaking at the Ladbrokes Brexit Business Case Debate, the MP for Abervaron told how he believes the UK should stay in the EU, where a change to its approach could then be reached.

Kinnock – son of former Labour leader Neil – told a number of politicians and journalists of the UK-EU alliance: “We cannot carry on the way we have, as some sort of semi-detached on-the-fence member state.”

He went on to add that the UK must remain in the EU and fight for British interests, in addition to building alliances and coalitions.

Here’s the full audio of Kinnock’s passionate plea…
