Boris Johnson is 8/1 to be replaced as Prime Minister this year, as Professor Chris Whitty also warns the UK of a second national lockdown.

Our traders have priced up the most likely year BoJo will be replaced, and as things stand 8/1 says it’s this year, with 2021 currently 2/1 in the betting and 2023 or later an even-money shot.

Elsewhere, 6/1 says he’s sent packing in 2022, with 10/11 being the price on him NOT being Tory leader at the next general election due to be held in 2024.

Johnson took over the hot seat from Theresa May in 2019 but just over a year in the job, he could soon be upping sticks.

Labour leader Keir Starmer is 2/1 favourite to be the next PM, while Conservative chancellor Rishi Sunak is at 3s to be the next through the door at number 10.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “There’s an outside chance Boris is replaced in Number 10 this year if the latest odds are anything to go by.”
