McMafia star heads next James Bond betting
We’ve become used to seeing him fronting shows like McMafia, Grantchester and Happy Valley, but we could be seeing James Norton all suited up for a spell in her majesty’s secret service.
Norton has been backed in to 2/1 favourite to fill the role, with Daniel Craig stepping aside after playing 007 since the launch of Casino Royale in 2006.
Craig’s spell will come to an end in November this year upon release of his fourth and film Bond film, No Time To Die. The launch had been scheduled for April before the worldwide Coronavirus outbreak forced the launch to be postponed.
Richard Madden remains a 3/1 shot, with Jack Lowden coming in at 6/1 after performances in Dunkirk and Mary Queen of Scots.
Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “James Norton has headed the betting for some time, but Richard Madden and Jack Lowden are beginning to close the gap.”
Elsewhere, Tom Hiddleston is an 8/1 outsider for the role, with Cillian Murphy and Idris Elsa out at 10s.
