UK 20/1 for 2020 Eurovision Song Contest success

| 27.02.2020

The United Kingdom is 20/1 to win the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest.

Ahead of the big UK entry reveal on Thursday morning, our traders currently make the nation a 20/1 shot for glory.

Lithuania is the early 4/1 favourite, followed by Italy and Romania at 8/1, before 10/1 shots Sweden.

Ladbrokes’ Jessica O’Reilly said: “As usual, initial hopes of UK success is quietly confident among patriotic punters.”

She added: “However, time will soon tell if the UK’s odds will be slashed dramatically on Thursday, or if they head in the opposite direction, leaving us with essentially no chance of winning.”

The United Kingdom finished last in 2019, with Michael Rice’s ‘Bigger Than Us’ collecting just 11 points.

It’s been 23 years since the UK won the Eurovision Song Contest, doing so most recently in 1997 with Katrina and the Waves and ‘Love Shine a Light’.
