Five things to watch out for in the NFL this weekend

Published:

After an exciting first week of the 2020 NFL season, we’re back to do it all over again this weekend.

Week two has some intriguing match ups and storylines as Tom Brady looks to win his first game in a Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey.

Here’s our five things to watch out for in the NFL in Gameweek 2…

Reigning champs Kansas City Chiefs to win again?

Patrick Mahomes took care of the Texans last time out landing 24 of his 32 pass attempts. The Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday as they continue their defence of the Vince Lombardi trophy.

The Chargers snatched victory in Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals debut but this will be a level up against the 5/1 joint favourites to win the Super Bowl LV.

Anything but a Chiefs win here at a skinny 1/4 on the Money Line would be a shock and put the Chiefs position as top dogs in doubt.

Ravens @ Texans – Sun, 21:25PM

This Sunday pits together two of the best young quarterbacks in the game as Baltimore Ravens travel to Houston Texans.

Ravens reigning MVP Lamar Jackson will hope to pick up where he left off against the Cleveland Browns, but DeShaun Watson will be out to prove he can be the main man and bounce back from defeat to the Chiefs.

Fancy the Ravens to floor the Texans? We go 12/5 on the Money Line for a Baltimore victory.

Patriots @ Seahawks – Mon, 1:20AM

Are we about to watch the Cam Newton show? Tom Brady’s replacement at the New England Patriots is the ex-Carolina Panthers quarterback and former MVP Newton has quickly stepped into his shoes and looked the part.

The Seahawks should present a trickier test than the porous Miami Dolphins defence put up last week as we go 4/9 about Seattle on the Money Line.

And that leaves the Patriots out at 9/5. Can Newton propel New England back into Super Bowl contention? This will be their first big assignment.

Brady’s Bucs to beat the Panthers?

Tom Brady and his new Tampa Bay team-mates take to the road to face the Panthers on Sunday hoping for their first win of the campaign.

After losing to the New Orleans Saints in week one, all eyes will be on Brady to drag his team across the line (quite literally!).

The Panthers started with a 34-30 loss to Las Vegas Raiders on the opening weekend, and they could go 0-2 with the Bucs 2/9 to win on the Money Line.

It may go down to final few plays, it’s 17/10 that the fourth quarter is the highest-scoring point of the match.

Best of the rest

Aaron Rodgers was in red-hot form for Green Bay Packers, throwing for four touchdowns against Minnesota Vikings last Sunday.

With pressure on his position from new arrival Jordan Love, can he produce the goods against the Detroit Lions?

Kyler Murray is another exciting prospect and after both Mahomes and Jackson won the MVP in their second NFL seasons, there’s a growing expectation the Arizona Cardinals QB can replicate their success this term.
