The midweek racing schedule concludes on Friday afternoon with five more races live on ITV4.
The Group 2 Yorkshire Cup is the feature contest as the three-day Dante Festival draws to a close.
There’s also action from Newbury, where 13 runners will go to post in a handy 6f Class 2 Handicap.
We’ve previewed all the action from Berkshire and York in our latest ITV Racing tips…
Stradivarius was one of the stars of 2017.
John Gosden’s charge saw off big-name challengers including Big Orange and Belgravia to land the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot and the Goodwood Cup Stakes last summer.
He came up just short in the St Leger and the Long Distance Cup in what was a marvellous second season on the flat.
The four-year-old colt makes his seasonal reappearance back down in class here and should prove too good for his less illustrious opponents. The going will also be to his liking.
A string of impressive first-time winners will bid to land the Marygate Fillies’ Stakes in the opener on ITV4.
There are arguments to be had for a number of the contenders. But it’s No Lippy that gets our vote after a mightily impressive run at Chester last week.
P J McDonald’s charge made all to land the Class 2 contest by 1l on only her second appearance.
She’s bidding to rattle off a quickfire hat-trick at York on Friday. This is tougher company than she’s faced previously, but the signs are good.
There’s plenty to like about Henry Candy’s Capton in the final live race.
The five-year-old racked up a handy double last summer. He would’ve had the hat-trick, too, had he not been demoted to second at Nottingham last time out.
This is his first appearance since that sparkling run of form, and if that sequence is anything to go by, he should be a lively contender on ideal going.
Defying a 6lb rise isn’t beyond the gelding, who will have top-jockey Ryan Moore on board.
