Siskin and Albigna favourites for the Irish 1000 and 2000 Guineas

| 18.05.2020

Confirmation that Irish Racing will resume on Monday 8th June has prompted our traders to get to work in pricing up the favourites for the Irish 1000 and 2000 Guineas.

The Irish 2000 Guineas, which will now be run on Friday 12th June at The Curragh, sees Jessica Harrington’s Albigna head the market at 5/2.

She’s followed by Love for Aidan O’Brien at 11/4 ahead of Alpine Star, Millisle and Cayenne Pepper.

Meanwhile, in the Irish 1000 Guineas, which will be run a day later on Saturday 13th June, it’s unbeaten colt Siskin who’s at the top of the betting for Ger Lyons at 11/4.

He’ll face stiff competition from the O’Brien yard which is headed by Coventry Stakes winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf fifth Arizona at 7/2.

Wichita and Innisfree are among the other contenders, while 7/1 chance Mogul has also seen his odds trimmed for the Derby at Epsom into 10/1.
