Shiskin 6/4 favourite for Arkle victory

Shiskin made a triumphant start to his chasing career, making light work of the Beginners’ Chase at Kempton and he’s now favourite for the Arkle in 2021.
Having already won the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival this year, he leads the field from the 10/1 Envoi Allen and Chantry House at 14s.
Ladbrokes spokesman Jon Lees said: “Nicky Henderson gave Shishkin a ten out of ten and so would we after an assured performance by last season’s Supreme winner in his first chase. There will be bigger tests to come but he tackled his first examination just as you would hope for a horse who is being compared to Altior.”
Elsewhere, Champion Hurdler Epatante is at 8/13 to take the Fighting Fifth Hurdle victory at Newcastle this weekend.
He was due to face a battle with exciting hurdler Goshen but after opting out, it’s now 5/1 Sceau Royal who takes second favourite.
