Finding tipsters who are on a winning run in the Racing Post naps competition is proving difficult with just four writers having napped consecutive winners.
Chris Goulding of the Sunday Express sits atop the table and is one of the writers on a run of two winners but his nap today is Praxiteles (6/4) in the 16.20 at Ffos Las, a horse napped by three other writers who are in awful form, making Goulding’s pick a negative.
Alan Keyte of the Western Mail, Fortunatus of the Sheffield Star and Bob Downing of the Shropshire Star are the other writers in winning form and both Keyte and Downing have napped Starlight Walk in the 14.20 at Ffos Las.
14.20 Ffos Las: Starlight Walk – 4/9
This Class 5 maiden stakes is there for the taking for Starlight Walk who has only found one too good in her last two starts in a lot stronger company than she faces today.
Owned by the Queen – all three of the Queens last runners have won – Roger Charlton heads to Ffos Las for the first time this season with Starlight Walk, but over the last five years the Wiltshire-based trainer has a 20% strike rate at the Welsh course from 10 runners.
Camberley Two recorded Charlton’s 100th three-year-old win of the season just under a fortnight ago at Brighton, and the trainer to the Queen has a prolific record with three-year-olds.
Mia Madonna showed some decent form last season, especially on her first ever start when finishing second to Havant, but has since seriously disappointed.
If Brian Meehan’s filly can reproduce last season’s form then she could well be a danger but on the basis of her two runs this year, the 7/1 looks around the right price.
There don’t seem to be many dangers in this weak renewal and Starlight Walk should walk this but if you’re looking for an each-way bet in this nine runner race, Delight Of The Eye could be it at 66/1.
