It’s not just the pundits who are on Kawsajj at Lingfield today with the punters also heavily backing the three-year-old this morning.
Roger Varian’s two-year old has been napped by three of the strongest tipsters in the Racing Post naps competition and at 8/11, it seems the rest of the country are also preparing for a Kawsajj win today.
Karl Hedley of the Irish Field, Chris Goulding of the Sunday Express and Kevin Walsh of the Irish Post are the only three tipsters who have napped Kawssaj today but considering all three are returning over £10 for a £1 stake this season, they’re worth listening too.
16:30 Lingfield: Kawssaj – 8/11
He may be being heavily backed by the punters and well napped by the tipsters, but Kawssaj still has plenty to prove today.
Having faded in the closing stages of his debut over a mile at Haydock, finishing second behind Voodoo Prince, Kawssaj was dropped back in trip for his second start at Wawrick and was backed in to 4/9 to win over 7f.
However odds-on backers were left with a light wallet after Sea Soldier got up to beat Kawssaj in the final furlong which puts a big question against the horse today.
However this race looks as if it is the right time for Kawssaj to claim his maiden win with Noverton (11/2) and Cookieshake (10/1) looking like the main dangers.
The stable form of Kawssaj is a worry but Varian has a 67 per cent strike rate at Lingifeld and Kawssaj can continue that impressive strike rate today.
Noverton’s trainer James Eustace is bang in form but like Kawssaj, his three-year-old filly disappointed last time out although on the basis of her second at Salisbury, she should fill one of the places.
Cookieshake will be making his debut for Luca Cumani’s yard and with Cumani boasting a 21 per cent strike rate at Lingfield, he may be worth a cheeky each way punt to fill the final place.
