Our ambassador Paul Townend heads to Limerick on Friday afternoon, where he has five rides to look forward to.

Redhotfillypeppers (12.30) takes on a few experienced horses for the first time. Touch wood, her jumping at home has been well and on ratings, she definitely has a chance.

I haven’t sat on her before but David Mullins won a hurdle race on her at the back end of last year so we are going there with a good chance and hopefully we get off to a good start.

Undressed (1.05) ran well at Fairyhouse to a point and will come on a lot from that run.

We are dropping back to two miles six here and we’ll probably want every yard of it and the ground to be as soft as it is in Limerick.

Natural progression from the first run will hopefully be good enough. I just worry about the trip a little bit. He does stay very well.

I think Stormy Ireland (1.40) has a brilliant chance. I was blown away by her at Punchestown the last day when Ruby was on board and by the way she picked up on the straight.

I was second to her that day. What she done as a juvenile was very impressive and she looks well in at the ratings here.

Everyone seems to know more about Annamix (2.10) than we do! He is doing everything well at home I suppose; lots of schooling done. It’s a nice place for him to start off and the ground will be safe.

He’s a big talking horse so we hope he can do the business.

You have to go back a good bit with Shar Whats Therush (2.45) to find good form; he beat Artic Pearl at Fairyhouse over a year ago. That’s the bit of form that I’m going off.

He will definitely have to recapture that form again in this competitive race. I have a lot of weight but his trainer Donal Hassett likes to have a winner at Limerick at Christmas time. I think he’s happy with him at home so we will take our chances.

On ratings, Stormy Ireland is my best chance of the day but Annamix has all the potential.

Good luck,

Paul.
