Paul Townend previews his chances aboard Gauloise at Thurles on Sunday

I have only the one ride this weekend and that’s at Thurles on Sunday where Gauloise (14.00) has her second run for the stable in the Listed Mares’ Hurdle.
She probably surprised us a little bit with the manner she won the first time. She was an impressive winner and I was especially pleased with the way she put the race to bed very quickly from the back of the second last.
More of the same would be lovely. If she can build on that she will have a bright future ahead of her.
Mick Winters’ mare Sayce Gold looked very impressive winning in Cork the last day. We get plenty of weight off her and she turns out pretty soon again. She looks smart but we couldn’t be happier with our own mare.
