Thursday 13th August 2020 will go down in history as the day He Knows No Fear became the longest-priced starting price winner in UK and Irish racing at 300/1.

In the process, the colt smashed a 30-year record after the victory in the 2:30 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

Our traders revealed there were 37 digital bets placed, with the highest stake placed at £5.00 (£2.50 e/w) that was boosted from 500/1 to a huge 550/1.

The previous highest winning SP was 250/1 shot Equinoctical, after success at Kelso back in 1990.

In June this year Newbury was the stage for 200/1 winner Intercessor ridden by jockey Cieren Fallon to triumph – giving a little perspective to this momentous achievement.

But He Knows No Fear’s victory has re-written the history books and now sits top of the pile. The question is, will we have to wait another 30 years for the record to be broken again?
