ITV Racing Tips: Notachance to pip Captain Chaos at Warwick?
Published:The weekend is upon us, which means we have got another ITV Racing schedule coming your way with eight races from Warwick and Market Rasen scheduled.
The pick of the action features the 2m 5f Ballymore Leamington Novices’ Hurdle, before hitting our stride in the McCoy Contractors Classic Chase later in the afternoon.
The familiar faces of Ed Chamberlin and Francesca Cumani will be there to digest all the action on the box to take you from stalls to post from 13:50.
In the meantime, we’ve hopped in the saddle to bring you a trio of ITV Racing Tips…
14:25 Warwick – Ballymore Leamington Novices’ Hurdle
This looks like a cracking card on paper with trainers Paul Nicholls, Colin Tizzard, Dan Skelton all in the vying to be first past the post.
Make Me A Believer (4/1) is one of the favourites having battled back well for a Cheltenham win last time out to look a strong candidate for this sort of trip.
Stamina will be key over the distance with soft ground expected which could suit Tom Scudamore on the six-year-old.
Oscar Elite is also in with a shout here for the Tizzard stable after racing to back-to-back wins in his last three outings at Chepstow and Tyrella.
15:00 Warwick – McCoy Contractors Classic Chase
Captain Chaos (9/2), runner-up in the McCoy Contractors Civil Engineering Classic Handicap Chase last year is one of thirteen horses declared for the staying event over three miles and five furlongs. Can he go one better this time round?
Alan King-trained Notachance (4/1) is the favourite standing in his way and with the stable in such sparkling form, it’s difficult to see beyond the seven-year-old, who comes into the race on the back of an impressive victory at Bangor.
The Hollow Ginge (14/1) is an outside shot for the Twiston-Davies stable. The chaser does stay well, but he also has this habit of hitting the odds fence like he did in the Welsh National. He has pedigree over this 3m 5f distance and a clear round could see him challenge the favourites.
15:35 Warwick – Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle
Come on Teddy (4/1) is the standout pick in our final tip of the afternoon with Sam Twiston-Davies on board the seven-year-old.
He won a competitive 12-runner Cheltenham handicap over three miles last month and a7lb increase in weight illustrates there could be plenty more to offer on Saturday. In his nine hurdles, he has notched up two wins, a second and two third place finishes.
Elsewhere, Imperial Alcazar (5/1), Flemcara (7/1) and Kapagge (15/2) should provide stiff competition.
