Horse Racing: Palace Pier and Military March attract Classics support

Published:

Our traders have made some changes to the British Classic markets following support in the last 24 hours for the Guineas in June.

The John Gosden-trained Palace Pier is now 12/1 from 16/1 for the 2000 Guineas, while Arizona has also attracted support at odds of 14/1.

In the Derby, Military March is now 10/1 (from 16/1), having been as big as 20/1 back in February as interest continues to grow.

Elsewhere, King of Change is the new 6/1 favourite for the Queen Anne Stakes having dropped from 7/1 earlier in the day.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “With the Guineas still set to take place on the first weekend of June, there has been support for Palace Pier and Arizona.

“The former was considered John Gosden’s best two-year-old last year by all accounts and the vibes around him remain strong. With international horses allowed to run, punters have also shown interest in Aidan O’Brien’s Arizona.

“Military March’s reputation was on the up over the winter and in the last week, there has been renewed interest in him particularly for the Derby.”
