English King eased for the Derby after nightmare draw in stall one

English King could soon be dethroned from his position as favourite for the Derby this weekend following a nightmare draw in stall one.

Ed Walker’s inmate will have to overcome a hoodoo which has seen just three winners of the Epsom classic emerge from the lowest stall. Our traders have eased English King to 5/2 from 2/1 as a result.

Elsewhere, Mogul has seen his odds chopped to 5/1 from 13/2 with confirmation that Ryan Moore will take the ride, while 2000 Guineas winner Kameko is 4/1.

In the Oaks, Love is all you need for plenty of our punters, who’ve backed Aidan O’Brien’s filly into as short as 11/10. Frankly Darling has been eased out from 15/8 to 2/1 for John Gosden.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “We are happy to be against English King in the Derby. The race is wide open this year with a big field and given the draw has done him no favours, we will be happy to take him on even with Frankie Dettori on board.”
