We only have a handful of runners this weekend and Harry is going to be at Warwick.

He rides Mercer’s Troop (12.40) who was second at Plumpton last time. He didn’t seem to stay that well at Plumpton but hopefully he has some sort of chance here.

It’s not easy for juveniles in handicaps but rated what he is we have little option.

Beakstown (2.25) runs in the Leamington Hurdle. We need the ground to be as described, which is good, good to soft in places.

Harry will be having a feel of the surface on his first ride just to make sure it is safe for this horse.

We have always liked him, the track will be grand and the trip is okay. I don’t think his rating fully reflects his ability at the moment so we will go down the better novice route for the time being.

Notwhatiam (3.35) runs in the Pertemps qualifier. He got beat last time in a handicap.

There doesn’t look to be a lot of room on his handicap mark on the evidence of his last run but hopefully he can run well. The extra distance is no negative.

At Kempton, Bridget rides Solomon Grey (2.40) in the Lanzarote Hurdle. He will like the ground. He is tackling the trip for the first time but I see that as a positive.

He is showing signs at home he is stepping back in the right direction after being away from the track for so long.

Theatrebar (2.40) has his first run since the summer in the same race. Willie Marshall takes 10lb off which will be a help.

I wouldn’t suggest he is the best handicapped horse in the world but he will like the ground and the trip. I’d just be a little concerned his rating is on the high side.
