The season has come to an end, but I hope to have a really busy May with the summer horses and some of the winter horses who didn’t get their chance because of the bad ground and weather.
As usual we plan to be very busy in May and then settle down a bit for the summer but still keep plenty going!
Reflecting on the season gone by, the staff have been magnificent.
They have this amazing drive and determination that matches mine, and we all aim to win as many races as possible and to be the best we can be.
It was such a hard winter but at the same time, it has been very fruitful. We had a winner at the Cheltenham Festival which was pure magic.
Our mares ran really well in the Grade 1s at Aintree and we’ve clearly got an improving team.
Harry has been incredible and Bridget Andrews keeps doing it time and time again. They have been incredible and it gives everyone the confidence they need.
It was an amazing result to finish the season with the highest amount of winners out of everybody.
We had 90 individual winners so that means we are keeping a lot of owners happy as well.
Next season, we will be strong in the novice chase department and we need to find some more novice hurdlers which we will do.
We are only going into our sixth season in training so you could actually say the handicappers are only going to get better because we didn’t have a base of handicappers to start with.
I am mindful that we need to have a runner or two in the likes of the Ladbrokes Trophy and the Betvictor Gold Cup.
That’s a point where we need to get to and I think we are on the cusp of doing so.
I hope to go a little higher with the prize money.
Obviously winners is hard to beat when you’re winning 156, but going up in prize money is definitely something we want to do and keep the business rolling. We employ a lot of people so we need to keep thriving.
