Aidan Coleman front runner to replace Barry Geraghty

After two-time Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning jockey Barry Geraghty announced his retirement this weekend, Aidan Coleman is favourite to fill his saddle.
JP McManus has lost his retained UK rider, and will be looking to fill the role left by Geraghty with the best available.
It’s 31-year-old Irish jockey Aidan Coleman who’s the early favourite at 11/10. Coleman most notable partnered with Paisley Park to win the 2019 Stayers’ Hurdle.
There’s competition for the role with Jonjo O’Neill Jnr the second favourite at 3/1, with the 22-year-old determined to keep improving following a breakthrough year that saw him leap to the top of the conditional ranks.
Elsewhere, Nico de Boinville and Mark Walsh are high on the list at 7/2.
Ladbrokes’ Nicola McGeady said: “There are plenty of names in contention for one of the biggest jobs in racing and although Aidan Coleman is the early favourite, we wouldn’t be surprised to see money for the likes of Nico de Boinville who ticks a lot of boxes for the job.”
