While the rest of the sporting world has come to a standstill, there’s a packed day on our hands as Greyhounds continues behind closed doors.
There’s some packed cards from the likes of Hove, Romford, Crayford, Monmore and loads more.
And we’ve drawn up some of the meetings you must watch out for…
Friday afternoon (SiS meetings)
Trap three has the best record of 2020 so far with 164 winners running at a strike rate of 19%.
One of the most in form dogs running at the track is Deeteedee Slider in the 3:19. In his last six races Kim Billingham’s charge has finished second three times and won the other three races.
Today he steps up to six bends for the first time and given his fast finishing running style over the standard 480 metre trip he could be an exciting prospect at the more testing trip.
So far in 2020 the winning most trap has been Trap four with no less than 137 wins!
Dean Childs has the best winning percentage with his dogs this year recording 76 wins at a strike rate of over 20%.
Childs sends out Droopys Plus today in the 2:12 race from Trap four. Droopys Plus has made an outstanding start to his career – after an eye-catching debut he has produced a hat trick of wins winning by 6 1/2, 3 3/4 and 2 lengths respectively.
He goes up to A2 grade this afternoon, but the puppy will be looking to lead all the way again.
Friday evening (RPGTV meetings)
It’s the last open meeting at Romford for the forseeable future tonight with some really high quality action on. During 2020 the red jacket has been the place to be on a Friday night with 42 wins and a 25.9% strike rate.
The best race on the card is the 21:26 race – Droopys Aoife won the Coral Essex Vase in December and has produced an impressive run of 9 wins in her last 12 races.
But faces stiff opposition notably from Sparta Master who would’ve been favourite for the Coral Essex Vase final but unfortunately an incident on the M25 meant that the trainer and the dog couldn’t get to the track in time.
He returns to Romford tonight having been on his travels to Crayford and Nottingham recently.
Trap three has proved to be the best place to be in 2020 with 83 wins (18.6% strike rate).
The trainer who has sent out the most winners at the track this year is Peter Harnden with 64 winners. He sends out the inform Salacres West who has won four of her last seven races.
She runs in the 20:13 race and will be looking to use her early pace to notch up another victory.
