While the sport continues to fall, thegreyhounds remains under starters orders – albeit behind closed doors.

And with packed cards up and down the UK, our trader has run through the pick of the action and who to keep an eye on.

Afternoon cards

Monmore

The white jacket of trap three has been the place to be this year at Monmore with 168 wins. And today, an interesting runner comes out of that trap in the 3:49 race.

Fagans Wonder spent most of his career runningaround Pelaw Grange but has started really well since his move to Monmore, winning his first two starts and then finishing second in his next two – despitehaving a few issues from the starting traps.

Given a level start this afternoon there’s everychance he could lead the dogs up the inside and improve his Monmore recordfurther.

Romford

The place to be at the Essex track during 2020 hasbeen the inside with most winners coming from traps one and traps two.

Lemon Tas runs in an A1 from the blue jacket oftrap two in the 17:19race. She’s in great form having won three races on the bounce prior to findingtrouble early last time out.

It generally pays to follow an improving puppy andthere’s a chance that Maxine Locke’s youngster hasn’t finished progressing andcould return to winning ways this afternoon.

RPGTV cards

Nottingham

The Derby venue would’ve expected to be hosting Greyhound Derby trial races tonight but with that postponed until later in the year we have an all graded card tonight. The 19:05 is the best race on the card.

Churchill Holly in T1 has made a remarkable startto her career having won her first three races. There’s a slow starter outsideof her, so has a chance to repeat those tactics tonight and lead up on theinside.

However, this is a much stiffer task tonight as thegrader clamps down on her fun and the preference is for Swift Ferdia in T5against her.

This is a downgrade for Colin Wilton’s dog who hasbeen running in hot races on Monday nights recently.

Yarmouth

John Mullins is running at a remarkable 31% strikerate in graded racing at Yarmouth this year. He sends out ShowtimeEmoski this evening from trap one.

Showtime Emoski is the son of the outstanding FearEmoski and he seems to have inherited some of her ability after winning hisdebut race by 3 1/2L. The grader seemed to like that performance as he punishedhim with a double upgrade to A1 company but he wasn’t disgraced in finishingsecond in that race.

Top trainer John Mullins must like him as well ashe put him in a trial against the competitive Smallmead at Monmore and ShowtimeEmoski performed creditably there. With him being the only railer here he has agood draw and is sure to be popular tonight.
