It’s the final event of the European Tour season, as Dubai hosts the DP World Tour Championship.
We take a look at some of the favourites, as well as the dark horses who could cause a surprise in the City of Gold.
Rory McIlroy is the favourite at 7/1. The Northern Irishman has enjoyed success in Dubai winning the Desert Classic on two occasions.
He’s also 13/8 to bag a top 5 finish.
There may be some hope for the rest of the field including John Rahm with McIlroy failing to perform in his two events since Europe’s Ryder Cup win.
Rahm placed fourth in both the Masters and the PGA Championship this year.
However, the 24-year-old did win this event last year and is 10/1 to repeat this feat.
Meanwhile, Rahmbo is 14/1 to be the first round leader.
Patrick Reed at 20/1 is hard to ignore. The American is a divisive character but the Masters champ could crown his year with one last victory.
The ones to watch
Elsewhere, the heroes of Europe’s Ryder Cup win could be worth keeping an eye out for here.
Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari, affectionately dubbed ‘Moli-Wood’ are at 14’s and 16/1 respectively.
British star Fleetwood is coming off the back of a sensational season, placing second in the US Open.
Molinari is actually the highest ranked player in the tournament at sixth. He went four matches unbeaten at the Ryder Cup and won the Open Championship in July.
He’s 7/1 to be the top continental European Player.
However, a real dark horse here could be Thorbjorn Olesen.
The Dane’s 20/1 to win outright and after winning the Italian Open this year, he’s had seven top 10 finishes.
His improved accuracy and silky touch on the greens coupled with the calmness he exudes makes him a dangerous proposition.
Olesen is 9/1 to be the top European player but could really come into his own here.
