Sebastian Vettel will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the Drivers’ Championship and having won this race for the past two years running, it is difficult to look beyond the German once more.

Vettel is priced at 11/8 to win the race and after dominant victories in Monza and Spa, the only other two races with a street-circuit, the reigning champion warrants his favouritism.

The Red Bull driver is 1/100 to retain the Championship and if Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton, 16/1 and 33/1 respectively, are to get anywhere near the title, a win will be required here.

Like Vettel, Alonso has claimed this race twice previously, winning in both 2008 and 2010. The Spaniard is 4/1 to win this renewal and given that he has not finished outside the top four since the race was reintroduced in 2008, that looks a generous price.

Hamilton won at Marina Bay in 2009 and is priced at 7/2 to claim victory this time. The Brit will be keen to avenge the disappointment of last year where he had to retire due to a gearbox failure 22 laps in, after qualifying in pole position.

That was the second time that Hamilton had secured the first grid slot at this track and having never finished outside the top three qualifiers in Singapore is installed as the 6/4 favourite for fastest qualifier.

There are plenty of other interesting betting opportunities further down the field. Nico Hulkenberg recorded his first top six finish of the year in Italy after performing excellently in qualifying to claim third place on the grid. It is often in the latter half of the season that the Sauber man comes into his own – he recorded five of his 11 top ten finishes in the last six races of the Championship last year – and 7/1 is tempting that he records another top six finish.
