West Brom v West Ham betting tips: Hammers hope to arrest slide

Sam Allardyce welcomes one of his former clubs to The Hawthorns with his West Brom side already consigned to the Championship, the first relegation of his career.

West Ham’s unlikely Champions League bid is all but over following a defeat by Everton and Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Brighton, and they are now 250/1 to finish in the top four, but 10/11 for the top six.

The Hammers need a win to ensure they are still in the hunt for a Europa League spot, so let’s look at the odds in our West Brom v West Ham betting tips.

Match Odds

It took a last-gasp goal from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson to deny West Brom what would have been a deserved point on Sunday.

Their last win came at home to Southampton on April 12 and they are 21/5 to take three points on Wednesday night, whereas a Baggies victory with both teams on the scoresheet is 7/1.

Allardyce’s side have scored and conceded in their last four matches and they lost 2-1 at the London Stadium in January.

West Ham have suffered three defeats and a draw in their last five matches with a hugely encouraging season in danger of fizzling out.

They are 8/13 to arrest that slide with a much-needed win, while the draw is 3/1.

A second consecutive draw for the Hammers, with both teams to score, is priced at 15/4.

Said Benrahma had taken 33 shots without scoring – the most in the Premier League – before he finally found the net at Brighton on Saturday night.

Over 1.5 goals in the match, Benrahma to have one or more shots and Kamil Grosicki to have one or more shots is available at 1/3.

Talking Tactics

Albion took the lead against Liverpool when Hal Robson-Kanu marked a rare start with an even rarer goal.

The former Wales forward wriggled on to Matheus Pereira’s pass to score his first top-flight goal since November 2017.

David Moyes acknowledged West Ham’s decision-making in the final third let them down in the 1-1 draw at Brighton.

That changed when Benrahma came on, the Algerian playmaker finally scoring his first goal since his £30million switch from Brentford in September.

Jarrod Bowen could make way if Moyes opts for Benrahma from the start.

Goalscorer Odds

Robson-Kanu is 9/1 to open the scoring for the Baggies and 16/5 to score anytime, while the ever-dangerous Pereira is a 15/8 anytime scorer.

For West Ham, Jesse Lingard and Michail Antonio need one goal to get into double figures for the season and they are 7/2 and 4/1 respectively to score first.

Benrahma is 3/1 to double his tally for the campaign, and 17/2 to hit the first goal.
