Sport: Five events to watch this week

It’s the start of another week, which means we’ve got seven days of sport to sink our teeth into, including the Premier League, Six Nations and Super Bowl.
You can cast your sporting eye over some of the biggest events happening across the globe and we’re here to steer you in the direction towards this week’s big hitters.
Will there be any movement at the top of the Premier League table? Who will be crowned champions in the Big Bash League? Can Tampa Bay Buccaneers make history in Super Bowl LV?
Here is a taste of what we have lined-up over the next seven days…
Premier League
There is three nights of midweek Premier League action to kick-off our events to watch this week.
On Tuesday, there are four matches under the lights, including Sheffield United v West Brom, Wolves v Arsenal and Newcastle v Crystal Palace. Manchester United (1/2) will aim to return to winning ways at Old Trafford against Southampton (11/2).
On Wednesday, there are another five games to tackle with league leaders Manchester City (2/9) travelling to Turf Moor to take on Burnley (11/1). Plus, Leeds v Everton, Aston Villa v West Ham and Liverpool v Brighton.
On Thursday all eyes will be on Tottenham v Chelsea in a tasty London derby. Can Thomas Tuchel remain unbeaten as Blues boss? Or can Spurs keep the pressure on the top four? Chelsea kick-off as 6/5 favourites at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Cricket
Howzat! It’s a big week of cricket and you can get bowled over with action from the first Test in Chennai for India v England.
Joe Root’s side will be buoyed by their 2-0 series win over Sri Lanka but face much stiffer opposition against India as they begin their four-test series. Virat Kohli will return to captain the hosts, fresh from their impressive series win in Australia.
England were the last team to win a Test series in India back in 2013 and are 4/1 outsiders to win the First Test. India are 8/13 favourites, a draw is 7/2.
In the Big Bash League, Sydney Sixers will face either Perth Scorchers or Brisbane Heat in the final at Sydney Cricket Ground at the weekend.
The Sixers beat Perth Scorchers by nine wickets to book their place in the final and they’re 5/6 to win the tournament.
Horse Racing
There is plenty of Horse Racing to saddle up to over the coming days with meetings at Sandown, Wetherby, Musselburgh and Leopardstown.
On Saturday, it’s the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase at Leopardstown (13:35), including the Irish Arkle (15:00) and Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle at 15:15.
Elsewhere, the ITV cameras will be at Sandown, Musselburgh and Wetherby on Saturday, plus overseas racing in Australia, France and South Africa throughout the week too.
Six Nations
On Saturday, we scrum down to kickstart the Six Nations tournament as England, France, Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Italy go head-to-head.
Italy v France is the opening match in Rome with Les Bleus 1/25 favourites to beat Italy (9/1).
England will begin their Six Nations title defence against Scotland at Twickenham with Eddie Jones’ side 6/5 outright favourites to win the tournament.
On Sunday, it’s Wales v Ireland to round off the opening weekend of fixtures. Ireland are 8/11 favourites to beat the hosts having beat them in the 2020 Six Nations and more recent, Autumn Nations Cup. Wales are 11/10 to win in Cardiff and a 20/1 shot for the Triple Crown.
Super Bowl LV
We wrap up our guide with one of the biggest events in the sporting calendar as Tampa Bay Buccaneers host Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.
Who’ll come out on top between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes? Brady will be making his tenth Super Bowl appearance with six wins to his name. Whereas, Mahomes was the MVP in last year’s showpiece. The Chiefs are the reigning champions and 11/20 favourites to retain their crown.
The Buccaneers (29/20) will become the first team to host the championship in their home stadium, competing in only their second ever Super Bowl – their first for 18 years.
