Southampton v Leeds betting tips: Teams eye win hat-tricks
Both teams go into Tuesday’s game on the back of victories at the weekend although Leeds are undoubtedly in better form having enjoyed comfortable wins against Tottenham and Burnley.
United have won five of their last nine, including a 2-1 triumph at champions Manchester City, and with just one defeat during that spell they are 29/20 to win at St Mary’s Stadium.
Saints, like Tuesday’s opponents, have won their last two games so it promises to be a fascinating contest as we look at some of the stats for our Southampton v Leeds betting tips.
Southampton were swatted aside in a 3-0 defeat at Elland Road in February when all the goals came in the second half.
Leeds are 9/4 to win and over 2.5 goals, 9/2 to win to nil and we go 5/1 Draw HT/Leeds FT, just like the game in Yorkshire.
Saints have been tough to beat at home recently, winning three and drawing one of their last four games, and they are available at 7/4 to pick up three points.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side beat Crystal Palace and Fulham 3-1 in their last two home games and another win by that scoreline is 18/1.
Additionally, there have been goals at both ends in seven successive games at home and we have both teams to score priced at 4/9, although the same market and over 3.5 goals is available at much bigger odds of 29/20.
In the half-time market, Southampton are 17/10 to score exactly once in the opening 45 minutes which has been the case in five of their last seven home games, only failing to score against Leicester when they had Jannik Vestergaard sent off in the 10th minute.
Leeds are back to full strength with both Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips in the starting line-up for the 4-0 win at Burnley and Rodrigo is building up his match fitness with a third goal in two games from off the bench following a spell out injured.
Nathan Tella was described by Hasenhuttl as the “biggest talent we have at the moment” having scored his first senior goal as a substitute in Saturday’s win against the Cottagers and he could start on the wing in a 4-4-2 formation.
Leeds striker Rodrigo scored twice at Turf Moor and is 12/5 to get on the scoresheet once again, although Raphinha is 7/1 to break the deadlock and 5/2 to find the net just as he did against Saints earlier in the campaign.
Patrick Bamford and Stuart Dallas also scored that day and they are 4/1 and 8/1 respectively to bag the opening goal or 11/8 and 13/5 to hit the target.
Danny Ings is Southampton’s top scorer with 13 goals and is the 7/2 favourite to get the first goal of the game but Che Adams struck the opener against Fulham and is 7/1 to repeat the trick and 23/10 just to find the net.
