Sol Campbell has entered the betting to be West Brom manager on the opening day of next season.

The Macclesfield boss has given his current side every chance of staying in League Two since taking over last year, and our footy traders reckon he might just be rewarded with the WBA job this summer.

As things stand Campbell has been installed as a 9/1 shot – making him third-favourite, while it’s current interim boss James Shan who heads the betting at 12/5.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “The Baggies find themselves in an interesting position right now with one eye on promotion and another on their next boss. And given the job Sol has done at Macclesfield in the last few months, it’s no surprise to see him enter the betting for the gig at the Hawthorns.”
