The start to the Serie A season has been the most fascinating of all the big European leagues as we take advantage of the international break to examine potential title contenders.
Napoli have burst out of the blocks with seven successive wins and are 5/2 in the Serie A winner odds in what looks to be one of the most open campaigns in more than a decade.
However, champions Inter Milan remain the favourites to retain their title as one of three clubs to have made an unbeaten start to what promises to be a thrilling season in the Italian top flight
Inter Milan
The sheen on Inter’s title success lost some of its lustre when Antonio Conte left the club having been told he would need to sell some of his prize assets to cut the wage bill.

Romelu Lukaku rejoined Chelsea and Morocco right-back Achraf Hakimi made the move to big-spending Paris St-Germain, but Inter have won five and drawn two of their seven games to sit in third place before the international break.
Despite Lukaku’s exit, Inter are the top scorers in the division with 22 goals, half of which have been netted by a combination of Edin Dzeko (six) and Lautaro Martinez (five), so the signs are looking good that Inter can win back-to-back titles which is available at 15/8.
Napoli
Napoli somehow managed to throw away a place in this season’s Champions League with a last-day draw against Verona, but they have bounced back in style with a flawless start to the campaign which included a 2-1 win against Juventus.
Luciano Spalletti replaced Gennaro Gattuso and has proved adept at both ends of the pitch, with Napoli scoring 18 goals and conceding just three times.
Napoli were 16/1 in the Serie A winner odds at the start of the season, but are now second favourites to win the Scudetto for the first time since Diego Maradona helped them win it for a second time in 1990.
Juventus
Juve were the 11/10 favourites to wrest the crown back from Inter before a ball was kicked despite the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo but a poor start to the campaign now sees them priced at 4/1.
The Old Lady failed to win any of their first four games, but three successive victories have put them back on track in seventh place, although they trail Napoli by 10 points.
With Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala now the focus in attack, it surely can’t be long before Juventus move into the top four and start challenging for honours.
AC Milan
Milan finished runner-up to arch rivals Inter last season and they are second once more at the international break following six wins and a draw from their opening seven games.
Stefano Pioli’s men were 10/1 in the pre-season Serie A winner odds, but an excellent start to the new campaign has seen their price more than halved to 9/2.
Wins against Lazio and Atalanta were sandwiched between a 1-1 draw with Juventus and it should not be forgotten that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has played just half an hour this season.
Best of the rest
Atalanta have been one of the most entertaining teams in Europe over the last two years but they have scored just 10 goals this season and went into the international break in eighth place.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are 8/1 in the Serie A winner odds, but fourth-placed Roma are 12/1 despite an encouraging start to the campaign under Jose Mourinho who has engineered five wins in seven, including a perfect four wins from four in the Eternal City.
Lazio were 33/1 at the start of the season and have drifted to 40/1 after a 3-0 defeat by Bologna before the break.
