Scottish Premiership: Favourites, dates, how to watch

After wrapping up the previous campaign early in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Scottish Premiership kicks off its new season this weekend.
12 teams will do battle, with 11 of them looking to dethrone Celtic. Neil Lennon’s men are eying a 10th straight title this season.

When does the Scottish Premiership start?
The 2020-21 Scottish Premiership season starts on Saturday 1st August. Aberdeen versus Rangers is the opening match at 12:30.
Celtic’s first game is at home to Hamilton at 16:30 on Sunday.
As usual, teams will play each other three times before the mid-season split at gameweek 33. From there, the league splits into two divisions of six, who play the other five sides in their bracket once more. The season is scheduled to finish on May 16th, 2021.
Who are the favourites to win the Scottish Premiership?
After winning the last nine league titles, Celtic are the team to beat according to our traders. They’ve got the Bhoys priced up at 4/9 favourites to win this season’s title.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers gave it a good go last time, but the Ibrox side couldn’t quite string a sustained title-challenge together. But the Gers showed plenty of promise, and they’re 7/4 to go all the way and stop Celtic’s winning run.
Behind the Glasgow duo, Aberdeen are next up at 50/1.
How can I watch the Scottish Premiership?
Sky Sports has exclusive rights to the Scottish Premiership, and is set to show 48 matches this season, in addition to the play-offs.
The SPFL will upload highlights onto their YouTube channel, while BBC Scotland’s Sportscene will also show highlights. Clubs will stream their own matches via a pay-per-view or virtual season ticket basis.
