Saturday’s Champions League Betting Tips: Barcelona & Bayern Munich to go through?

Published:

After the Champions League made its comeback last night, there’s plenty more action to look forward to tonight.

Napoli are looking to upset Lionel Messi and co at Camp Nou, while Chelsea go on an unlikely  rescue mission against Bayern Munich.

With places in the quarter-finals up for grabs, we’ve previewed both of tonight’s fixtures in our Champions League Betting Tips.

Bayern Munich v Chelsea, 20:00

Frank Lampard

After last weekend’s FA Cup final defeat, a depleted Chelsea squad now face the daunting task of an away trip to Bayern Munich. Did we mention they’re also 3-0 down from the first leg?

In unsurprising news, the Bundesliga champions are 4/11 favourites to win in 90 mins, or 1/300 to qualify. Our traders have Chelsea at 13/2 on the night and way back at 28/1 to go through.

Bayern have won 17 games on the spin, but they haven’t seen competitive action for over a month. Can Chelsea catch them cold? You feel the Blues will need an early goal to have any chance. Chelsea are 9/4 to be the first side to score.

However, the visitor’s absentee list is almost long enough to make a decent line-up itself. Cesar Azpilicueta, Christian Pulisic, Jorginho and Willian are among those out, while N’Golo Kante is a serious doubt. With that in mind, the hosts are 33/20 to win to nil.

Robert Lewandowski has already scored 11 goals in this season’s competition. He’s 2/1 to score first or 4/9 anytime. Having bagged a brace at Stamford Bridge, Serge Gnabry is 6/5 to score here.

Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud are both 2/1 as Anytime scorers for Frank Lampard’s side.

Barcelona v Napoli, 20:00

After a 1-1 draw way back in February, Napoli will fancy their chances against a Barcelona side that’s seen better days.

But despite letting Real Madrid overtake them to win La Liga, they’ve still got Lionel Messi. Our traders have Barca as 8/13 favourites to win in normal time or 4/11 to qualify. Napoli are 21/5 to win in 90 mins or 2/1 to seal their place in the last eight.

Quique Setien could be light in midfield without Sergio Busquets or Arturo Vidal. Even if Lorenzo Insigne is ruled out, Napoli will want to get at the hosts. Barcelona and Both Teams to Score is going for 2/1, with Over 3.5 Goals at 29/20.

For all of Barcelona’s problems, their front three can win any game. Messi’s 13/5 to open the scoring or 5/6 anytime. Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann are Evens and 12/5 respectively to score.

Napoli’s main man Dries Mertens is a 13/5 shot in the Anytime market, with Arkadiusz Milik just behind at 14/5.
