Robert Lewandowski transfer odds: Real head queue for Bayern star

| 20.07.2021

Robert Lewandowski transfer odds and potential clubs

Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is one of the Bundeliga’s greatest strikers of all time, but his contract expires at the end of next season amid speculation he is being lined up for a move to Real Madrid.

Lewandowski scored 41 goals in the previous campaign to break Gerd Muller’s record of 40 for a single season, but he is reportedly interested in a move to the Bernabeu.

The Poland international is 1/2 in the Robert Lewandowski transfer odds to make Real Madrid his next club but are there other clubs in the running?

Real Madrid

Bayern Munich are digging in their heels about their prize asset, with chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insisting Lewandowski will not be sold.

Lewandowski is the Bundeliga’s second all-time scorer with 277 goals although he is some distance behind Muller’s 365.

However, Spanish newspaper AS reported that the 32-year-old former Dortmund forward is open to a new challenge and has set his sights on a move to the 13-time European champions who were pipped to the title by city rivals Atletico last season.

The Poland skipper famously scored four goals against Los Blancos in a Champions League game eight years ago but he could be on the same side for the start of the new campaign

Chelsea

The Blues are in the market for a classic centre forward and while it is unlikely that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would sell Harry Kane to their London rivals, the Germans would have no problems with selling Lewandowski to a Premier League club should their hand be forced.

Timo Werner has not cut the mustard up front and clearly prefers to play in a wider role so with Tammy Abraham left out in the cold by Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, the door is open for a new striker at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are 7/2 in the Robert Lewandowski transfer odds to land a marquee signing in their bid to win back the Premier League title.

Manchester United

United are on the brink of splashing out £73million for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho but is there room for a superstar like Lewandowski?

The Red Devils already have one thirty-something player as their main man up front, so it perhaps would not make sense to bring in Lewandowski to supplement Edinson Cavani.

Additionally, United, 5/1 in the Robert Lewandowski transfer odds, are thought to be more interested in boosting their back line with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and Atletico right-back Kieran Trippier on their radar.

Manchester City

City, as everyone seems to think, would love to sign England captain Harry Kane from Tottenham as a replacement for Sergio Aguero whose 10-year stay ended in the summer.

Levy does not want to sell his prize asset but Spurs are feeling the squeeze on the back of the coronavirus pandemic so a move cannot be ruled out.

However, should Kane stay and Lewandowski become available, expect City to be at the front of the queue to sign the Pole who is 6/1 to join the Premier League champions.
