A horror-show start to his Champions League campaign coupled with a first Premier League defeat of the season, has prompted Ladbrokes to release prices on when Jose Mourinho may call it quits at Stamford Bridge.

The old saying ‘never go back a second time’ can be applied to all walks of life, whether it be work related, relationship-based or even a possible living arrangement.

Nevertheless, Mourinho opted to go back to Chelsea, despite exiting via the side door under a cloud in September 2007, and already a few tensions have surfaced after successive defeats.

Following the Blues’ shock home loss to Basel in their Champions League opener the Chelsea players were greeted with a dressing-room visitation from owner Roman Abramovich.

It’s unlikely that congratulations were offered to one and all.

Does this owner interference spell the beginning of the end for the Abramovich/Mourinho relationship already?

Ladbrokes are offering odds of 6/1 that Mourinho will head for the exit door before Christmas, while 18/1 from the same firm says that the Portuguese will be out the door by the time Halloween swings around.

However, if you feel this is all a bit knee-jerk, then there are plenty of other options to consider on when the ‘Happy One’ might part company for the second time.

It’s a 7/2 shot with Ladbrokes Mourinho leaves any time before the end of the current season, while it’s 5/1 that he leaves at any point next season, between the dates of 1/6/14 and 31/5/15.

Lastly, it’s 5/6 that the former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto manager leaves at any point after the end of next season.
