West Ham United defensive ace 7/4 for Everton move

Published:

Everton could be about to snatch West Ham United’s central defender Winston Reid for a rumoured £9m.

Toffees manager Ronald Koeman is searching for cover for the injured Ramiro Funes Mori who could be set for a nine month spell on the sidelines.

New Zealand ace Reid is seen as the ideal replacement for the Argentine to provide competition for first choice centre-halves Michael Keane and Ashley Williams.

With that in mind, and with West Ham prepared to listen to offers, we make Reid a 7/4 shot to swap the Olympic Stadium for Goodison Park.

The 29-year-old made 36 appearances last season as the Hammers meandered to an 11th place finish.

The chance to play European football would interest Reid who has ambitions of playing for his national side at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Available at around £9m, the 6ft 3in stalwart also provides significant value for money in what has become an inflated transfer market this summer.

That would interest the Merseysiders who have already shelled out over £85m already this summer.
