It’s safe to say David Sullivan’s son Jack has a habit of tweeting about his beloved club West Ham. And it appears today is no different, as he announced that the Hammers could be bringing in one more face before the transfer window slams shut tonight.

Slaven Bilic has been relatively quiet so far today, and up to this point keeping hold of striker Enner Valencia seems to have been his main priority – but the co-chairman’s son has had his say, giving Hammers fans something to look forward to as the transfer window draws to a close.

But who could he be talking about?

Saido Berahino @ 12/1

Berahino has been heavily linked with both Crystal Palace and Stoke City for most of this transfer window, but both clubs have since signed alternatives, with Palace opting for Christian Benteke and Loic Remy and the Potters snapping up Wilfried Bony on a season-long loan.

This means the chances of Berahino moving to either club are looking extremely slim.

But with a shortage of attacking options due to several injuries, could the man who wants out of West Brom be the player Jack is referring to?

Jermain Defoe @ 10/1

It’s been the summer of reunions in the Premier League, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Defoe returned to the club where he spent the first five years of his professional career.

At 33, the former England striker won’t be too expensive either, and could be the short-term answer for goals that Slaven Bilic is looking for.

Mario Balotelli @ 20/1

Don’t write this one off just because of the relatively huge odds. Super Mario has to move somewhere today, as he’s been told on several occasions that he won’t be featuring in Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

So where does that leave the former FIFA Golden Boy winner?

Though he’s been linked with a move abroad, he’d struggle to say no to a top Premier League side where he can prove to critics that form is temporary and class is permanent.

We’ll be keeping our eye on developments from the London Stadium right up to the 11pm deadline tonight.
