West Brom v Fulham: Cottagers to creep closer to drop zone

Published:

West Brom head into this home clash with Fulham as the 21/20 favourites – and it’s easy to see why.

Steve Clarke’s men may have lost their last league game, but a 2-0 defeat away to Manchester United isn’t anything for the Baggies to worry about, especially when the second came in the 90th minute courtesy of a brilliant Robin van Persie strike.

They are in a very decent run of form, winning their previous two games against Norwich and Queens Park Rangers and their home record remains excellent this term.

They’ve lost just twice at the Hawthorns in the league this season (by the odd goal against Manchester City and Stoke) and have won four of their five matches against teams currently in the bottom half of the table, drawing the other.

Meanwhile, Fulham – who are 13/5 to come through and pick up all three points – are looking increasingly like a side who may be sucked into a relegation battle.

The Cottagers have now gone four Premier League games without a victory and were worryingly poor against a much-changed Swansea City at the weekend.

Their away form is also cause for concern, with Martin Jol’s men winning just one of their 10 away games this term.

The west London side have also never won at West Brom in the Premier League, making the 21/20 offered for the home win look like far and away the best bet going into this clash.

It looks like it could be a tough old season for Fulham…
